Plume Agate jewelry

Phoenix Rising

Wingate Pass Plume Agate, glass cabochon by Mikelene Reusse, reticulated silver, sterling silver, copper

Using one's voice is empowering.  Getting past the overbearing or over critical parent, spouse, boss, co-worker, friend, etc. and using your own voice is freedom.  It also benefits us all to hear your unique spin based on your experiences and inner being.  You just might have the answer we've been waiting for or the light that reaches the darkest soul.

When I was youngish adult I could gather my thoughts and express myself well through words, but as the world got angrier I've retreated, a defense mechanism to childhood trauma.  It's okay.  I've found creating a powerful outlet for my voice.  When someone is touched by a piece or the inspiration I know I've been understood.  And isn't that what we all want?  Not just to be heard, but understood?

Artisan Pendant

Playing with Fire - SOLD

Sonora Sunrise, glass cabochon by Mikeline Reuse, turquoise

The top pendant, Phoenix Rising, represents a theme I've touched on several times through jewelry.  It saddens and embarrasses me as a human being that we had to get to this point of destruction around the world to believe climate change is a reality.  Animals on land and sea and plants don't have the means to do anything but adapt or die and yet they knew.  I am encouraged that some of the steps we've been able to make are having some effect.  I have to hang on to hope and honor those that do their part in not only a personal way, but start a ripple that creates change.  We've not done enough, but closed eyes have been opened.
