The World is My Oyster

Artisan Brooch

Fortunate One Brooch

Agate Concho, Pearl, Sterling Silver

(SOLD)

One of the most satisfying jewelry pieces I completed last summer was this brooch.  I took a sheet of sterling silver and my hammer and completed the vision I had in my head of an oyster with a most gorgeous blue pearl.  (a little more effort than that, but in a nutshell!)

It was a culmination of knowledge gained from numerous teachers both in workshops and online.. and lots of practice.  Thank you to those that teach and that share your hard earned expertise.  It is really priceless.

This piece sold more quickly than perhaps I would've liked, as I didn't have much time to go back to it and feel the pride.  However, I'm glad I took some decent photos to remember her.  She's a beauty.  I think I'll do more brooches in 2018.

Oyster Silver Brooch

I thought the brooch was a little heavy for a traditional pin back, so after seeking some advice on a Facebook group dedicated to metalsmithing I used tie tacs.  It was the perfect solution.  I imagined it being worn on a warm wool coat at the coast.
