Seasonal Jewelry from Honey from the Bee

Three?  Aren't there four seasons?!  I say that tongue in cheek, because doesn't it seem that temperature wise we're really down to three?  The plants are still trying to say four, but even they are getting confused.

As I tackled and played my first couple weeks in the studio I didn't intend to create jewelry for the seasons, but it worked out that way.

The first necklace I completed was Lavender Seas.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'd messed with it last fall, but never got to resolution on a final product that I loved.  It was good that I didn't force it and just waited, as I love how it turned out:  a soft summer necklace for retaining memories of the beach.

I have quite a stash of vintage buckles and buttons and one of my goals this year is to use more of them in jewelry pieces instead of hoarding them.  The next two one of a kind necklaces each use one.

Butterflies Always statement necklace was inspired by the devastating reduction in our butterfly population, especially Monarchs.  I was happy to see that our county didn't cut down the milkweed along the road before the monarchs in the area had time to reproduce.

Swarovski crystals

This last one was a real puzzler.  I knew what I wanted in my mind's eye, but using methods I've used previously just wasn't going to result in what I wanted.  Luckily one restless night my muse worked with me and we reached resolution!  Snowflakes on Eyelashes turned out exactly as I wanted.

I'm not wanting to hurry to winter by any means.  I'm so looking forward to summer for many reasons:  lake cruises, bonfires, barbecues, friends visiting, roses and homegrown tomatoes to name a few.

Stunning collection

I loved seeing how these came together Janet .. all three are just gorgeous in their own right!

I know I have gushed over

I know I have gushed over these pieces already, but they deserve another round of applause! What stunning, unique beauties. I am so in love with that butterfly piece ~ buckle, wings, chain ~ all so lovely, with great motion. And seeing the backside of that winter piece completes it. It just as lovely as the front! And the found shell ~ oh YES!
