Grand Canyon is the 7th in my series of National Park pendants to raise awareness of how special our country's treasures are. Grand Canyon National Park is an official International Dark Sky Park.
Growing up back east I was fascinated by the parks in the west. At an assembly once we saw a film of white water rafting through the Grand Canyon and it has never left my mind. I've been a couple times now and both times it just overwhelms with the beauty and size of this incredible nature created art piece in our own backyard. With human growth of towns and cities we threaten the beauty of these magical places. Light pollution is real and I'm heartened to see that many towns and cities are helping to lower their impact. Seeing the stars from which we came is just the kind of experience we need to remind us of this special place we call home.
