Among my stash of vintage buckles and buttons I found this North and Judd belt buckle half. It features what is likely hammered steel with a brass finish. In 1832 North and Judd began by making saddlery hardware. They supplied spurs to soldiers in the Spanish American War and WWI. They hallmarked their pieces with an anchor.

So, although they were best known for their spurs they did go into the buckle business as well. This buckle has the anchor hallmark as well as the company name. I'm just glad it found its way into a piece of my jewelry so it could continue to serve its decorative purpose.

Dangling from the buckle is a beautiful carved Red Agate leaf and a coppery Swarovski crystal. The entire pendant is 3.5 inches long by about 1.75 inches at the widest (buckle.)

Copper coated steel chain has a nice visual weight and design. The chain and a hand-wrought bronze wire clasp is adjustable up to 24 inches. You'll find my hallmark and a faceted carnelian bead dangling from the back.

I call this Simply Autumn and love its Art Deco style.
