Ocean Dreams inspire Earrings for the Summer
Shipwrecked (SOLD)
Ceramic Raku by Wondrous Strange
The start of summer is around the corner and every other day we are reminded that it's not quite here. However, it's always summer in the tropics. So let's go there! K?!
I had fun this week creating some fun and colorful earrings inspired by the ocean and all of its treasures.
For the first two I used some Dentilium shells which are these gorgeous soft green long daggers. Both are long earrings that curve to echo your cheek. I just love them.
Sea Tusks (SOLD)
Lampwork by Meital
Then I went in search of some beads in my stash that I could use with my new sea urchin spines. These are tiny and just so sweet for earrings.
Peacock Raku (SOLD)
Lampwork by Bastille Bleu
Lastly are these chubby cute earrings that were inspired by building sand castles. The ceramic beads remind me of when my brothers and I would build a sand castle close to the surf and when complete we'd dig a trench to allow water in for our moat. That was when my fairy tale was complete, but the building was often crushed, along with my dream, by my brothers' war or catastrophe that would leave it in ruins.
Sand Castle (SOLD)

I don't think I've gotten my fill of ocean inspired earrings so there will likely be more to come in the near future.

Each pair is beautiful and
Each pair is beautiful and unique and exotic...the chubbies remind me of the drip castles we would make of sand...I didn't have the patience for the kind you made :-) The sea urchin spines are so cool! The beads you paired them with have such gorgeous color. LOVE the top two pair...how the lampworks make that pair look like a sea creature, and how the raku pair really do create a fantasy about sea treasures.More! More!
