Truly an ancient and beautiful find are the fossil known as Ammonite.  These are polished and lovely for artisan earrings.  They are from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras - 66-400 million years ago!

I've paired them with a bead called a yo-yo bead which has no hole, just a channel along the outside.  Time feels like a yo-yo to me, especially during the pandemic years.  The days seem to stretch and yet if you ask me how long ago something happened the years collapse.
