It's a Frog's Life highlighted in a One of a Kind Necklace

Carnelian and Chalcedony Frog necklace

(SOLD)

I loved working on him, as his colors were so inspiring.

It wasn't planned, but it worked out that way:  my follow-up to Leap of Faith (another frog featured necklace!) is It's a Frog's Life.

A Laura Mears' porcelain frog tile begged to be the center of attention.  He pushed aside my owl cabochon by her, as well as a gorgeous crow design on an agate pendant.  I've always wanted to work with one of her porcelain pieces and was lucky to grab a few before she sold out yet again.  She is much sought after for her realistic cabochons featuring animals.

His colors leaped out and so I found a lovely carnelian flower in bright orange that I could wire a patina'd dragonfly.  He couldn't keep his eyes off her!

Watery aqua chalcedony and a fiber bead that seemed to pick up all his colors were destined to tie in, too.

I'd recently purchased this unique tadpole (my name of course) vintage brass chain that completed the picture.

Ever since I read the scientific prediction that in 20 years half the current U.S. sites that have amphibians will be empty, I can't help but highlight their plight.

I hope you like him as much as I do!
