Surf necklace by Honey from the Bee

After last month's challenge I've been inspired to continue to play in the surf.  This is my latest necklace celebrating the joy and calmness I always feel on the coast.

It features some beautiful lampwork reminiscent of sea glass.  Unfortunately I've been unable to identify where I purchased them even though it was in the past year.  It's a result of moving my studio.  However, if the maker recognizes them - please let me know as I'd love to update the post.  I purchased 2 others just like them that I'm going to use for earrings and a larger lentil that I'm not sure where it will end up.

It had been awhile since I'd done this much seed bead work, but the process brought back why I've always loved it.  It's soothing like knitting with the repetition of counting and sewing.  I had fun selecting the different colors to work with and experimented until I had the look I wanted.

"To stand at the edge of the sea, to sense the ebb and flow of the tides, to feel the breath of a mist moving over a great salt marsh, to watch the flight of shore birds that have swept up and down the surf lines of the continents for untold thousands of years, to see the running of the old eels and the young shad to the sea, is to have knowledge of things that are as eternal as any earthly life can be."  Rachel Carson
